Automatic Litter Boxes - Making the Right Choice
However, lots of people have no idea that certain automatic cat litter boxes could be way more trouble to take care of than they may be worth. The motor may cause enough noise to wake you from sleep in the middle of the night after your cat does its business. Bits of fecal material could get flung outside the litter box. Based mostly on feedback from some frustrated owners of automatic litter boxes, it is clear that they feel dissapointed for ever having purchased one.

Nonetheless, there are litterboxes that are well-designed, that most of the consumers are pleased with. Having used most of these things myself, and having read a considerable amount of feedback from users of various brands, I decided to recommend the ones below as the most efficient currently available.

    1) Litter Robot

The Litter Robot waits a few minutes after your cat has left the litter box, and then drops the waste into a plastic bag underneath. It is quiet when it operates, and contains odour comparatively well. Another plus is that it has low maintenance cost, as the only things that need replacing are the plastic bag (which can be any regular corner store bag) and premium clumping litter. While it comes with a rather high price-tag, the fact that the Litter Robot has minimal operating costs and that most consumers find it to require little maintenance makes it one of the best automatic cat litter boxes currently on the market. 2) Petsafe Simply Clean

Unlike the other automatic litter boxes, the Petsafe Simply Clean litter box not only goes thru the cleaning cycle after a cat leaves. Odors are small as the cleaning is continual. The sole continuing costs are common plastic bags and premium clumping litter. The only complaint from some users is that while the litter box is running, the softer fecal material could break apart into pieces that are too small to get swept away by the conveyor, and end up staying inside the box until they are manually scooped out. Because of this, I would not recommend that you go with Petsafe if your cat has soft fecal material. In spite of this little issue, the Petsafe Simply Clean is still recommended as the the advantages certainly outweigh the disadvantages.

Like lots of the other brands of automatic litterboxes, ScoopFree is triggered several minutes after the cat leaves by using a rake to move the waste to a tray. Along with the low upkeep costs, this litterbox has a low upfront sales price. The only ongoing cost is for the expendable tray, which must be replaced when it becomes full. Furthermore, this litterbox does not call for much human intervention. However, a few users have complained about the motor being overly loud, and the odor being detectable. Actually, though, I would still suggest this litter box as being one of the best ones available on the market today.

The Cat Genie works differently from the typical automatic litterbox. As well, it does not require you to keep changing the litter, as it utilizes exclusive granules that are permanent and that come with the machine when you purchase it. After the waste is eliminated, the box would automatically wash and dry itself. Although there is the extra hassle of having to connect it to your plumbing system at the beginning, the fact that it can dispose of the waste material and maintain its own cleanliness will save you extra time down the road. However , considering that most of the consumer feedback on this product has been positive, this litter box is still recommended.
